The mission of the Maine Geographic Alliance is to expand and improve geographic education from Pre-Kindergarten through University by assisting educators with high-quality geographic materials, lessons, and workshops for implementing Maine's learning results. 

 

 

Cathleen McAnneny

Coordinator of the Maine Geographic Alliance, professor of Geography at the University of Maine Farmington.  Cathleen has been active with the Alliance since 1993 and coordinator since 2000.  She has lead or participated in Summer Institutes on Sustainability, Water, The Acadian Story and GIS and Community Mapping. Dr. McAnneny’s interests include Geography Education, Health and Health Care Access and the environment.

Sue Lahti

MGA Co-Coordinator, for 33 years, Sue was a teacher at Carrabec High School in North Anson, Maine. She joined the Alliance for its first Summer Geography Institute (SGI) in 1993 and has shared the coordinator role since 1996 when she attended the summer institute in Washington, D.C. A true geographer, she loves to travel and share the diversity of the world with other people.
